Huaraz → Paso Portachuelo → Paria
- Distance: 9–10 km
- Estimated time: 3–4 h
- Camp height: ~3.850 m
Departure by transport from Huaraz, crossing the Portachuelo Pass (a natural viewpoint of the Cordillera Blanca) to the starting point of the trek. The route continues through wide Andean valleys and gently ascending terrain, ideal for gradual acclimatization, to the campsite in Paria.
Paria → Punta Unión Pass (4.750 m) → Taullipampa
- Distance: ~11–13 km
- Estimated time: 7–8 h
- Maximum height: 4.750 m (Paso Punta Unión)
- Camp height: ~4.250 m
A demanding day of continuous ascent to the Paso Punta UniónThe highest point of the trek. From the summit, panoramic views of iconic snow-capped peaks such as Alpamayo, Taulliraju, and Artesonraju. Descent to the campsite at Taullipampa.
Taullipampa → Laguna Arhuaycocha → Llamacorral
- Distance: ~13–15 km
- Estimated time: 6–7 h
- Optional height (lagoon): ~4.450 m
- Camp height: ~3.760 m
Llamacorral → Cashapampa → Huaraz
- Distance: ~12–13 km
- Estimated time: 4–5 h caminata + ~3 h transporte
- Final height: ~2.900 m
