LA PAZ / PRE-EXPEDITION MEETING
Starting altitude: 3600 meters above sea level. For the Espeletia Expedition team, the acclimatization process and a pre-expedition briefing are essential. Therefore, after landing in La Paz, known as the world's largest base camp, we will hold a welcome briefing to meet the entire team and finalize expedition details. Pre-expedition meeting. Remember: If you require high-altitude gear, please notify us in advance to schedule a meeting at our partner equipment rental shop.
Important: Constant hydration, good rest, and a balanced diet are recommended.
LA PAZ – CONDORIRI VALLEY, PLACE OF THE CONDOR
Duration: 5 hours
13.5 km trek – 80 km by car
Altitudes: initial 4,500 m above sea level – maximum 5,350 m above sea level – final 4,700 m above sea level
Meeting point: hostel or main square of La Paz. Time: 7:00 am. We will take the 4x4 vehicle to head to the Condoriri Valley. After leaving the vehicle, we will begin the hike in Rinconada to the base camp (mountain refuge), crossing pristine valleys and lakes, and then do an acclimatization trek to Pico Austria (5350 m).
From its summit you can appreciate the view of Lake Titicaca, the Cordillera Real and the west face of Huayna Potosí, we will return to the refuge to have dinner and rest.

BASE CAMP-TARIJA PEAK AND SMALL ALPAMAYO
We will begin our ascent at 2:00 am. After an alpine breakfast, we will start the hike to Tarija Peak (5330 meters above sea level), traversing penitentes (ice formations), crevasses, and a 35-degree glacial ramp, as well as approximately 80-meter rock sections that will lead us along a ridge with a 200-meter elevation gain and a 55-degree slope until we reach the summit. There, we will appreciate the imposing view of the beautiful smaller Alpamayo. Afterward, we will descend to base camp, where we will have lunch and pack our backpacks to continue to Ricondada. From there, we will take a 4x4 vehicle to La Paz.

LA PAZ-CAMPO ALTO HUAYNA POTOSI
Huayna Potosí: Its name comes from the region's native language, Aymara, meaning "young mountain," making it ideal for mountaineers aiming for 6,000 meters above sea level. This iconic peak is part of the Cordillera Real, Bolivia's largest mountain range. Meeting point: hostel or main square, 8:00 am. After loading backpacks into the 4x4 vehicle and driving west for two hours, we'll begin the trek to high camp. We'll climb moraines, carrying our daypacks, until we reach the mountain refuge near the glacier. Afterward, we'll have dinner and rest before the final ascent.

After a hot drink, around 1:00 am we will continue our trek to the glacier edge, traversing rocky terrain, snow, ice, and glacial fractures. We will then proceed to the summit along a beautiful ridge, offering some of the best views of the Cordillera Real, the Western Cordillera, and the Apolobamba mountain range, including peaks like Sajama, Ilimani, and Illampu. The ascent to the summit will take 5 to 6 hours, followed by a 4-hour descent to base camp. There, we will board a 4x4 vehicle to continue to the city of La Paz, where we will celebrate with a delicious dinner.
